Our Features

A fan of all things black and white, Jeremy was born to a musical dairy farming family and grew up very familiar with piano keys and Holstein cows.  He began piano lessons at age four with Teresa Richert and has since performed in many solo, collaborative, and chamber settings, including a television appearance as the hand double for Ronen Rubinstein in ABC’s Dead of Summer.  He’s been recognized with many awards and scholarships including the Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Arts Council Music Scholarship and the KPU Endowed Piano Award.

For over ten years, Jeremy has run a small teaching studio in Maple Ridge where his students regularly participate in recitals, festivals, and RCM exams.  He is passionate about sharing his love and knowledge of music while challenging his students to reach their full potential.  A member of the BC Registered Music Teachers’ Association, he teaches all levels of the Royal Conservatory of Music’s piano syllabus, including the corresponding levels of theory, history, and harmony.

Jeremy holds a master's degree in interdisciplinary humanities from Trinity Western University, a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of British Columbia, and an ARCT in piano performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music, as well as a Diploma in Music from Kwantlen Polytechnic University.  He is grateful to have studied under many wonderful teachers including Miranda Wong, Rena Sharon, Jane Hayes, and Anna Levy.

When not in the barn or in front of a piano Jeremy can be found reading, hiking, or (lately) working on restoring a 1912 farmhouse with his wife Aimee.
